The Fear Fighting Begins!

It was one crisp, October afternoon of 2004, when my life took a dramatic detour. My journey, up to that point, had been your typical side road, complete with stop and yield signs along the way. "A few bumps in the road make life interesting", my mom would say. A sickly childhood, an angry adolescence, and then a rocky transition into adulthood. This is when I meet my husband. Oh, lets' call him, "John". Big wedding, good careers, and a happy life together, or so I thought.

That October afternoon, John had suggested we separate for a little while, just to clear the cobwebs. Yeah right, who was he fooling. Not really knowing what happened or why, I began to question certain things, doubt everyone and FEAR everything. FEAR of regrets, FEAR of crowds, FEAR of the future; I even had a FEAR of the dark. (Ok, I'm still afraid of the dark). I soon came to realize something about the fear I was experiencing. It paralyzes you. It causes great anger and hatred. FEAR creates hesitation. And ultimately, FEAR can make you believe you are a failure.

And so I wanted to dedicate my blogs to this battle of fear we must conquer. Why, just writing this blog has helped me on my journey to FIGHTING FEAR. So in my FEAR FIGHTING FILES, I'm going to overcome all the FEARS I face everyday with courage, positive thoughts, determination, and a little bit of blog writing. FIGHTING FEAR, one blog at a time.

A GOLDEN LASSO

Wonder Woman is best known for fighting crime in RED high-heel boots and BLUE star, spangled underwear. Not very practical or comfortable, I'm sure. However, in her quest for justice, she endured the blisters, and fought against tyranny with her trusted Golden lasso by her side. When her enemies were wrapped in this Golden lasso, it compelled them to tell the TRUTH. This lasso of TRUTH was her weapon to FIGHT FEAR. What do you FIGHT FEAR with?

A BLUE CAPE

Kryptonite is known as the glowing green crystal that originated from the planet Krypton - Supermans' home planet. On the planet of Krypton, this rock was nothing more than a rock. On earth, however, this rock became a poisonous element to Superman, capable of draining his awesome powers. This small piece of stone became Supermans' ultimate FEAR. The FEAR of being forced to part with power. Even superheros have FEARS, but they face them with their BLUE CAPES, or RED, blowing in the wind.
